The KlimaShop!® KlimaKonfigurator! serves as a useful calculation tool for estimating the air conditioning needs of a room with an approximate area of 100m² (1100 ft²).

Conducting an air conditioning needs assessment is crucial for determining the appropriate specifications of a climate control device, as well as its expected air demands. The KlimaKonfigurator! facilitates this process by allowing users to calculate the necessary cooling capacity for a given space.

The calculation of air conditioning requirements depends on several key parameters, which the KlimaKonfigurator! takes into account:

• Room size
• Room height
• Roof or ceiling construction
• Area of windows exposed to direct sunlight
• Number of occupants in the room
• Heat generated by electrical equipment, such as lighting, computers, and TVs

The calculated air conditioning requirement represents the amount of power (in Watts or BTU/h) that a cooling unit would need to function effectively, aiming to maintain a temperature difference of 6-8 Kelvin (or 6-8 °C or 10-15 °F) between the indoor space and the external environment.

This tool also provides the option to convert the cooling load from Watts to BTU/h with a simple interaction marked as "Your cooling load."

It is noteworthy that while the KlimaKonfigurator! offers valuable insights, it does not substitute for standard industry heat load calculations, such as those outlined in VDI 2078.
